About Me

Julia Ozdych (she/her) is a New York-based movement artist, climber, and filmmaker originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She began her training with Lisa Hall McKee at Studio Arts for Dancers and performed with Go! Contemporary Dance Works for over seven years before earning her BFA in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Julia has performed works by Bill T. Jones and Trisha Brown, and has trained with artists and companies from Doug Varone and Dancers, Gallim, Evidence Dance, David Dorfman Dance, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. For the past three years, she has been training closely under the mentorship of Yin Yue, deepening her technical and creative practice through FOCO Technique.

An experienced rock climber and mountaineer, Julia’s practice exists at the intersection of vertical and terrestrial movement. Her work explores the relationship between gravity, strength, and the body’s curiosity. Across both art and sport, she seeks to understand how physical challenge becomes a form of creative expression.
